Wizkid gets 2 nominations for 2022 Grammy Awards

Nigerian superstar, Wizkid, has been nominated for two categories in the 64th Grammys holding next year.

Wizkid’s Made in Lagos album and song ‘Essence’ bagged two nominations as Grammy award announced nominees.

Wizkid ‘Made in Lagos’ was nominated in the category of Global Music album.

The other nominees on the same category as Wizkid are “Voice of Bunbon, Vol. 1 – @RockyDawuni, East West Players Presents: Daniel Ho & Friends Live In Concert – Daniel Ho

Mother Nature – @angeliquekidjo

Legacy+ – @Femiakuti & Made Kuti

Made In Lagos: Deluxe – @wizkidayo

Wizkid was also nominated for Best Global music performance for ‘Essence’ ft Tems.

Essence which is the fourth song from his album ‘Made in Lagos’ became fans’ favourite and summer hit song for celebrities in America and most parts of the world.

Essence debuted in June 2021 at number 91 on the UK Singles Chart after another single ‘Ginger’ peaked at No. 67 making ‘Made in Lagos’ the only Nigerian album to have more than one song debut in the UK Singles Chart.
