A young woman has sparked widespread reactions on social media after posting an emotional video on TikTok accusing her former lover of abandoning her after attaining wealth and praying that his marriage would fail.
In the now-viral video shared on her TikTok account, @buzuwa05, the visibly upset woman described the man as a “traitor, deceiver, oppressor, cheater and betrayer of trust,” claiming he had walked away from their relationship after becoming financially successful.
She said she stood by him when he had nothing and loved him sincerely despite his financial struggles.
According to her, the relationship was built on genuine love rather than material possessions, adding that she remained committed to him before his fortunes changed.
The woman alleged that after acquiring wealth, the man began looking down on her and decided she was no longer suitable for him.
She also dismissed rumours questioning the man’s origin, insisting he was a native of Kano State and that his newfound wealth had changed his attitude toward her.
Using a Hausa proverb, she suggested that people should remain loyal to those who stood by them during difficult times, lamenting that financial success had transformed the man into someone she no longer recognised.
She further threatened to publish photographs showing the man’s appearance before and after he became wealthy, saying the images would allow the public to judge the situation for themselves.
In the emotional video, the woman also accused him of causing her and her parents immense pain and sleepless nights, repeatedly praying that he would experience betrayal similar to what she claimed he had subjected her to.
The video has since generated intense debate online, with social media users expressing mixed reactions over her emotional outburst, the public nature of the allegations and the circumstances surrounding the failed relationship.
