A mother of three, Kemisola Mustapha, has appealed publicly for a second wife for her husband, explaining that her battle with cancer has affected her ability to fully carry out her marital responsibilities.
Mustapha, a trader, shared her story in a video posted on TikTok.
She said her health challenges began in 2024 after she was diagnosed with cancer, adding that the illness has placed emotional and financial strain on her family.
According to her, the situation has limited her ability to meet some of her husband’s needs, leading her to consider bringing in a co-wife who could help “restore happiness” to their home.
She said she has been searching for a suitable woman for about nine months.
Mustapha praised her husband for standing by her, saying he had sold most of his belongings to support her treatment.
Because of his sacrifice, she said she does not want him to feel deprived or unhappy.
She added that she is looking for someone of good character — loving, peaceful, faithful, well-brought-up and preferably educated — who would care for both her husband and her children.
Mustapha revealed that she once paused the idea after someone warned her that a new wife might take advantage of her condition.
However, she said she later resumed the search, insisting she is hopeful about life and is acting out of love, not fear.
She said her husband initially rejected the proposal but eventually agreed after several conversations, and they documented the decision legally.
