15-year-old girl sent on errand killed in Gombe

A 15-year-old girl, identified simply as Aisha, has been confirmed dead after she was sent on an errand in the Kwami area of Gombe State.

The Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the incident via a statement issued on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

The confirmation followed a viral video showing the girl’s body found in a hole near Wakili and Tuguji villages in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State.

Abdullahi disclosed that Aisha was sent to buy soybeans on Monday evening but never returned home.

Abdullahi said: “The report was made by her father, Malam Abubakar, at about 12 noon on Tuesday.
