Sixteen-year-old Osasere Okundaye has made history as the youngest chartered accountant in Nigeria, earning praise from the Federal Government for the remarkable achievement.
The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, congratulated Okundaye in a statement issued on Monday, describing her success as a reflection of hard work, discipline, resilience and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
According to the minister, the teenager’s accomplishment demonstrates the immense potential of Nigerian youths and serves as an inspiration for young people across the country.
“I heartily congratulate Miss Osasere Okundaye on her outstanding achievement of becoming Nigeria’s youngest chartered accountant at just 16 years of age,” Olawande said.
He noted that her record-breaking feat shows that determination, dedication and the right support can enable young Nigerians to break barriers and achieve extraordinary success.
The minister also commended Okundaye’s parents, family, teachers and mentors for their guidance and encouragement throughout her journey, saying their support played a vital role in her achievement.
Olawande reaffirmed the Federal Ministry of Youth Development’s commitment to implementing policies and programmes that empower young people, adding that Okundaye’s success strengthens confidence in the future of Nigeria.
Okundaye’s milestone comes about a year after Temilola Blossom Arise, then an 18-year-old Economics student at the University of Ilorin, became a chartered accountant after passing all five papers in the professional stage examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
