Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, has obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for senatorial seat in 2023.
Before now, Ayade had obtained the N100 million APC presidential nomination forms to vie for the presidential ticket of the ruling party.
Ayade had in April declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election after a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

However, a list of aspirants contesting election into the Senate has the name of Governor Ayade.
A copy of the list obtained by The Star showed the governor will contest election into the upper chamber of the National Assembly to represent Cross River North Senatorial District.
Ayade is in league with Senate President Ahmad Lawan who has obtained both the presidential and senatorial forms.
