The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr. Babachir Lawal, and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on Saturday, visited Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The latest development is coming barely 24 hours after the members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the All Progressives Congress (APC) condemned the decision of the ruling party to fly a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket for the 2023 general election.
The party stalwarts, including Lawal and Dogara, while speaking at the association’s summit held in Abuja on Friday, said Christians in the North must rise against the “injustice” of the ruling APC.
The former SGF and ex-Speaker of the House of Reps, stated that the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket was against all the principles of equity, fairness, and justice, adding that the ticket was an attempt to further divide the country.

However, Babachir Lawal, while speaking on the visit to Wike on Saturday, said: “We are on a brotherly visit as part of the agenda setting to build an all inclusive Nigeria.”
The Star, on Friday, reported that Wike said the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, failed to tell the truth during his recent interview.
Wike accused Atiku of telling lies against him, adding that the former Vice-President used some PDP chieftains to spread falsehood against his person.
The governor, who said this while speaking to newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport after returning from a foreign trip, said he decided to be quiet because “PDP is a party I love so much”.
He, however, promised to speak on the crisis rocking the PDP ahead of the 2023 general election after the commissioning of some projects lined up for inauguration by the Rivers State government.
