Traditional Rulers in Ebonyi State have kicked against any individual opposing the state governor, David Umahi’s senatorial ambition, declaring that such person or candidate may not see the next Christmas.
The Chairman, South-East Traditional Rulers Council, Charles Mkpuma, made the pronouncement at the inauguration of Umahi’s senatorial campaign activities for 2023 elections in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Wednesday.
Umahi is the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Ebonyi South.
Mkpuma, who is also the chairman of Traditional Rulers Council in the state, said curse would be on anyone who would rise to oppose Umahi’s senatorial bid ahead of the 2023 general election.
The traditional ruler commended the governor’s achievements in the state, saying: “We are fully in support of you, governor.

“Anybody in any way moves against our support may not see the next Christmas.”
Umahi, while addressing his supporters, boasted that he has the capacity and experience to represent not only Ebonyi South, but the entire state and Igbo race in general.
He assured his constituents and the entire state of quality representation, inclusiveness, and a pride of place in the affairs of the country.
“I am going to the centre to fight for the welfare of Ebonyi people; employment, infrastructure. I am going to fight for the empowerment of Ebonyi people and we will take it by force,” Governor Umahi stated.
He, however, charged constituents to also throw their support behind the APC gubernatorial candidate in the state, Francis Nwifuru.
