2026 Osun guber: ADC accuses APC of voter importation plot

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to compromise the 2026 governorship election in Osun State through irregular voter registration.

In a statement on Friday, Abosede Oluwaseun, Publicity Secretary of the ADC’s Omoluabi Progressives caucus, alleged that the APC was enrolling non-residents from Oyo, Ondo, and Lagos into the Osun voters’ register with the help of compromised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He further claimed that APC operatives were transferring voter cards belonging to their supporters in other states to Osun, describing the scheme as “a sophisticated attempt at rigging and an assault on the people’s will.”

Oluwaseun questioned INEC’s report of 393,269 new registrations within eight days in Osun, calling the figure suspicious and reflective of the APC’s alleged “win at all costs” agenda.

He linked the development to the ruling party’s “anti-people policies” under President Bola Tinubu, accusing it of worsening poverty, insecurity, and hardship nationwide.

The ADC urged Osun residents to resist manipulation and safeguard their votes ahead of the August 8, 2026, governorship poll.

“Osun must not become a testing ground for electoral fraud,” the party warned.

But Osun REC, Mutiu Agboke, dismissed the allegations, insisting that the voter registration exercise was transparent and conducted strictly within INEC’s guidelines.
