23 feared dead in Kebbi boat mishap

No fewer than 23 people have been feared dead in a boat mishap in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

It was gathered that the boat, loaded with 30 traders and their goods, sailed from Kasabo village to Yauri town for commercial activities when it capsized on Monday, October 2, 2023.

It was learned that seven people were rescued alive while 23 others were still missing.

Speaking on the incident, the Chief Press Secretary to Kebbi State Governor, Ahmed Idris, in a statement on Monday, quoted his principal as appealing to the families of the victims to accept the will of God in good fate.

He said: “I want to urge you to see what happened as the will of Almighty Allah that nobody can question, therefore, accept it in good fate.

“We should also continue to pray to Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them Jannatul Firdaus.”

The governor also prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries in the incident.
