Three House of Representatives members from Katsina State, originally elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection was announced during Thursday’s plenary session by Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, who read a letter submitted by the lawmakers.
In the letter, the legislators cited ongoing internal crises and unresolved issues within the PDP as their primary reasons for leaving the party.
They expressed concerns that the instability within the PDP has hindered their ability to serve their constituents effectively and align with the principles of progressive governance.
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, attended the plenary in a show of support for the defecting lawmakers, underscoring the political shift.
