United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc is set to host a special edition of its quarterly UBA Business Series in celebration of Women’s Month, with a focus on empowering and celebrating the modern African woman.
The event, themed “Gen W – The Evolved Woman,” will hold on Wednesday, March 12, 2026, at UBA House in Lagos, beginning at 11 a.m. It will also be streamed live across the bank’s digital platforms, allowing participants to attend either physically or virtually.
The session will bring together accomplished female leaders and professionals who will share insights, experiences and practical strategies for navigating ambition, leadership and growth in today’s evolving business environment.
According to the organisers, the special edition aims to advance conversations around women’s leadership by highlighting a new generation of women who are not only seeking opportunities but actively creating them and redefining success on their own terms.
The event will feature speakers including entrepreneur and founder of ORÍKÌ Group, Joycee Awosika; media personality and entrepreneur Tomike Adeoye; founder of Fine Funky, Olufunke Davies; and award-winning broadcaster Ayo Mario-Ese. The discussion will be moderated by media personality and actor Tobi Bakre.
Panelists are expected to share their personal journeys and perspectives on building resilient businesses, navigating professional spaces, embracing authenticity and redefining leadership as women in a rapidly changing global landscape.
Speaking ahead of the event, UBA’s Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting women and recognising their role in driving economic growth and innovation across Africa.
She noted that the modern African woman is becoming increasingly bold, visionary and intentional about the spaces she occupies, adding that the platform will encourage meaningful conversations around leadership, ambition and opportunity.
