33rd anniversary: Lagos CMSN awards scholarship to 9 students

The Lagos State chapter of the Christ Morning Star of Nigeria (CMSN) has celebrated its 33rd anniversary with a renewed commitment to empowering young people through educational grants.

In keeping with its commitment to supporting education, the fellowship awarded scholarships to nine students in various universities to aid their academic pursuits with food items distributed to indigent members of the church and community, to further reflect the group’s mission of extending Christ-like love to the less privileged.

Speaking on the relevance of the event, the Lagos Chapter president of the society, Star Olusegun Sobowale said the annual anniversary provides opportunity for members to reflect on previous successes and mobilise for new goals ahead.

“We are a church based society and our core mandate is to shine the light of Christ, through giving and support for those in need,” Sobowale said at the event held at St. David’s Anglican Church in Lagos on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

Other speakers at the event also urged members to remain steadfast in service to God and humanity, through their conduct and impact in their communities.

The anniversary celebrations witnessed prayers of thanksgiving, music, and tributes to past and present members who have sustained the vision of the Christ Morning Star in Lagos State for over three decades.
