Four persons have been confirmed dead in an accident that occurred in front of Christopher University on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State.

The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident via a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Afolabi Odunsi, on Monday, April 6, 2026.

Odunsi disclosed that eight persons also sustained injuries, saying the accident, which occurred at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, involved a commercial Toyota Hiace bus.

According to him, 13 persons were involved in the accident, comprising 11 adult males and two adult females.

“Eight persons sustained injuries, including seven adult males and one adult female, while four adult males lost their lives in the crash,” he said.

Odunsi explained that preliminary investigation revealed that the accident was caused by a burst tyre and speed violation, which made the driver lose control of the vehicle.

He said the FRSC rescue operatives from the Mowe Unit Command arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and carried out rescue operations.

He added that the injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital for medical treatment, while bodies of the dead were deposited at the Idera morgue.
