Four employees of Sweet Sensation, an eatery, on Monday, appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing N2.5 million.
The Sweet Sensation employees, a man and three women, were 46-year-old Kayode Abiodun, 31-year-old Wuraola Adedigba, 27-year-old Aishat Ganiyu, and Oluwatosin Ajayi, aged 36.
The defendants, who all live in the Mowe-Ibafo area of Ogun State, are standing trial over alleged conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offences were committed between 2020 and 2022 at Sweet Sensation, Ikeja branch.

Akeem said the defendants conspired and stole N2.5 million belonging to their employer, Sweet Sensation, adding that the alleged theft was uncovered when the eatery’s account was audited.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, B. O Osunsanmi, admitted each of the defendants to N300,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi, therefore, adjourned the case until January 30 for mention.
