A Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Ota area of Ogun State has sentenced a 48-year-old man, Wasiu Adegboola, to six months imprisonment for stealing a Samsung A06 phone valued at N160,000.
The convict had pleaded guilty to two charges of stealing and conspiracy.
The prosecutor, Inspector E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the 48-year-old man and others still at large committed the offences at about 11 a.m. on May 3, 2025, at Tunde Adeleye Street, Ijako in Ota.

Adaraloye said the convict and his accomplices conspired to steal a Samsung A06 phone valued at N160,000, belonging to the complainant, one Aminat Martins.
The prosecutor added that the offences contravened Sections 390 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
In her ruling on Wednesday, May 7, the Magistrate, O.O. Fadairo, sentenced the convict to six months imprisonment with an option of fine of N50,000.
