Nearly 800,000 applicants have been disqualified from the ongoing paramilitary recruitment exercise, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board has disclosed, as it released a comprehensive breakdown of application figures and examination results nationwide.

According to data published by the board, the exercise attracted over 1.8 million applications across Nigeria.

Of these, 1,120,491 were completed and processed, forming the pool of candidates who advanced to the examination stage.

However, 432,935 applications were flagged as incomplete, while 360,923 applicants were disqualified during the shortlisting phase following screening checks — bringing the total number of disqualified applicants to 793,858.

The recruitment covers four paramilitary agencies under the board: the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Correctional Service.

The board also released a national score distribution from the computer-based test, showing that 221,996 candidates scored between 0 and 40, while 229,155 fell within the 41 to 60 range.

The largest segment — 278,543 candidates — scored between 61 and 80, indicating a concentration of average-to-strong performance.

Top-tier scorers who achieved between 81 and 100 numbered 142,697, representing the smallest of the four bands.

The next phase of the exercise will involve physical screening and document verification.

Shortlisted candidates are expected to receive notifications specifying screening venues, dates, and required documentation.

Only applicants who meet the required performance benchmarks and satisfy all screening criteria will proceed.

The board reiterated that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge and urged applicants to rely solely on its official communication channels — recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — for updates, cautioning against misinformation and unofficial messages.

The disclosure comes after many candidates expressed concern over poor communication and intermittent inaccessibility of the recruitment portal.
