Tragedy struck in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Monday, May 8, as an over-speeding motorist, suspected to be an internet fraudster, ran over a Junior Secondary School (JSS) student, killing her on the spot.
An eyewitness disclosed that the student was returning from school and was standing by the roadside when she was hit by the driver.
“Friends of the driver, a suspected internet fraudster, who were in another vehicle, rushed him to an unknown destination as his vehicle burst into flames.

“Government needs to pay attention to the recklessness of these internet fraudsters,” the eyewitness told NAN.
The incident was confirmed by the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya.
Odunlami-Omisanya said the corpse of the student has been deposited in the morgue at the Akure Specialist Hospital.
