A suspected internet fraudster, fondly called Yahoo boy, has crushed no fewer than four persons to death in an accident in the Ijoka area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.
It was gathered that a yet-to-be-identified number of persons were injured in the accident which occurred on Monday morning.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the suspected internet fraudster, who was driving at a high speed, crushed the victims after his Toyota car skidded off its lane.
An eyewitness said some of the victims, who were on commercial motorcycles, died at the scene of the accident before they could be rushed to the hospital.

He added that sympathisers, who rushed to the scene to rescue the driver and the victims, found some fetish items inside the vehicle, raising suspicion that the driver was a Yahoo boy.
The sympathisers were said to be angered by the discovery and descended on the driver, beating him to a point of comatose.
“For the timely intervention of the men of the state police command, who arrived at the scene, the driver and his vehicle would have been set ablaze by the mob following what they discovered in his vehicle.
“The mob action was due to the driver’s attitude after the incident because he showed no sign of remorse and attempted to run away from the scene of the accident,” the eyewitness added.
It was further gathered that the police operatives, who arrived at the scene, took the lifeless bodies of the victims to the morgue, while those injured were treated at the state hospital.
The Ondo State Police Command has yet to speak on the incident as of press time.
