Football fans worldwide are reeling from the shocking news that Portuguese international and Liverpool striker, Diogo Jota, has died in a car accident in Spain.
The 28-year-old was reportedly killed in a crash along the A-52 highway in Zamora province, within the Castilla y León region. According to Portuguese media, Jota was travelling with his younger brother, André Jota—also a professional footballer—when the accident occurred.
