United States President Donald Trump has called Nigeria a “disgraced country” over the alleged killings of Christians in the West African nation.
Trump also said he has asked the U.S. Department of War to prepare for possible “fast” military action in Nigeria if the killings continue, adding that the military will wipe out Islamic terrorists in the country.
The president said this in a post on Truth Social on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
He wrote: “If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.

“I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!”
Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Defense has announced its readiness for a military action in Nigeria.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made this known in a post on X on Saturday.
Reacting to Trump’s post, Hegseth wrote: “The killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria — and anywhere — must end immediately.
“The Department of War is preparing for action. Either the Nigerian Government protects Christians, or we will kill the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”
