The Zamfara State Police Command has thwarted a bandits’ attack in Gusau Local Government Area and rescued 25 abducted victims, including 10 women and 15 children.
Police spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said officers received a distress call at about 9:45 p.m. on Friday after armed bandits stormed Kuraje village in large numbers, shooting sporadically before abducting residents.
Operational teams from the Damba Division and the Department of Operations, working alongside Community Protection Guards, immediately mobilised to the scene.
They chased the attackers, engaged them, and rescued all 25 victims unharmed.
The victims were safely moved to Sabongari Damba for profiling and have since been reunited with their families.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, praised the officers for their swift and gallant response and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Zamfara State.
