Troops of the Joint Task Force, North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, have killed 48 Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and recovered 52 firearms during fierce engagements in Borno and Yobe states.
The operations involved repelling attacks on military bases in Bitta and Natt Buni Yadi between Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30, 2026.
The Acting Media Information Officer of the task force, Captain Mohammed Goni, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.
Goni said the troops repelled an attempted terrorist assault on their position in Bitta on Thursday night through a coordinated response involving ground forces and air support.

Goni said the troops also launched a counter-offensive against a large concentration of ISWAP terrorists who attacked Natt Buni Yadi from Thursday into the early hours of Friday.
He noted that the five-hour engagement was coordinated by the Theatre Command, with intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance capabilities integrated with air and ground assets.
