Former Kano State Governor and ex-National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has returned to Nigeria from London and is set to travel to Kano on Monday for important political engagements amid ongoing realignments in the state.

Ganduje arrived in Abuja at about 5:30 a.m. on Monday via British Airways, following the graduation of his daughter, Fatima, from King’s College, London.

Fatima, who is married to Idris Ajimobi—the son of the late former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi—earned a Master’s degree on Thursday.

Confirming his return, Ganduje’s Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, stated that the former governor would immediately resume party activities in Kano.

“He has returned to the country this morning and will proceed to Kano later today to participate in key political engagements,” Garba said.

Garba added that Ganduje would play an active role in the APC’s electronic membership registration in Kano, a programme he launched during his tenure as national chairman.

He is also expected to be involved in activities surrounding the planned reception of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the party.

Yusuf, who won the 2023 election on the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) platform, has sparked political attention in Kano with his anticipated defection, drawing keen interest from party stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
