Mustapha Kwankwaso, son of Kwankwasiyya leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resigned his position as Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development and as a member of the State Executive Council.
In a resignation letter dated Monday, Mustapha said the decision was taken with a “heavy heart,” while expressing gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve the people of Kano State.
He said his time in office provided valuable experiences and lessons, and thanked the governor for the trust and confidence reposed in him.
The former commissioner also urged continued support and investment in youth empowerment and sports development in the state, praying that Kano youths would continue to receive the attention they deserve.
His resignation comes amid reports of Governor Yusuf’s planned defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
