Nigerian actress Halima Abubakar has once again reached out for financial help to fund urgent brain tumour surgery, revealing that she is currently homeless and struggling to cope.
In a recent live session, the actress opened up about her diagnosis and her eviction, saying she has been left “desperate” after depleting her savings to cover her mother’s N9 million hernia surgery last October.
Halima explained that she tried to use funds raised for her treatment to pay her rent, but her landlady reportedly refused, leaving her without shelter.
She also made a direct appeal to prominent figures, including former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, activist VeryDarkMan, and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
“I need your help. I have nobody. I cannot even reach any celebrities; none of them is answering my calls. I called Don Jazzy, but there was no response,” she said.
The actress emphasized that she is not seeking attention, dismissing claims that she is fabricating her illness. “Only a mad person would lie about being sick,” she said.
Halima estimated that the total cost for her surgery, aftercare, and living expenses is about N25 million.
“I have nothing left except the money contributed for my surgery. I have suffered too much.
“I need accommodation, feeding, and medical care. I relocated to Abuja to be close to Turkish Hospital and have been on medication for a year,” she added.
This is not the first time Halima has appealed for aid.
In February 2025, she called on the Kogi government for assistance, though she did not disclose the nature of her medical condition.
In 2022, she had announced her retirement from acting due to health concerns.
