A 21-year-old apprentice (name withheld) has allegedly killed his boss at Fegge in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident on Monday, February 16, 2026, saying the suspect has been arrested.
Ikenga also confirmed the recovery of a pestle believed to have been used to commit the crime.
Ikenga said: “The boss scolded the suspect for his behaviour of pilfering money in the shop, taking drugs, and coming back late at night.

“It resulted in an altercation and the situation escalated resulting in the suspect using a pestle from the kitchen to hit his boss on the head.”
The police spokesman explained that the victim’s wife was rescued and taken to the hospital, where she was responding to treatment.
He added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka, for a comprehensive investigation and to ensure that justice is served.
