The Lagos chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers has unveiled a multi-million-naira motor park named in honour of President Bola Tinubu.
The facility, christened the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Modern Garage, is located in Oyingbo, Lagos, and is scheduled for formal unveiling today with top government officials and union leaders in attendance.
Among the dignitaries expected are the NURTW Lagos Chairman, Mustapha Sego; the Rilwan Aremu Akiolu; the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Tayo Ayinde; the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi; and the governor’s Special Adviser, Sola Giwa.
The new garage joins a list of public facilities across the country recently named after Tinubu since he assumed office in May 2023.
The trend has generated public debate, with supporters describing it as recognition of his leadership, while critics question the symbolism and timing of the renamings.
