Authorities in Ogun State have arrested seven students following a violent incident at Ikija High School, Iberekodo.
The school principal, Mrs. Fadoju Oluwaseyi, said the disturbance occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, when a disagreement between two 17-year-old students, Abdul Lateef Musad and Yusuf Taofeek, escalated into a full-blown brawl.
The altercation quickly triggered wider unrest, with students reportedly stoning school property and assaulting teachers. Security personnel were called in, but the students also hurled stones and other objects at patrol teams, damaging the windscreen of a patrol van.
Seven students were apprehended and taken to a police station for questioning. The situation was eventually brought under control, and authorities continue to monitor the school to prevent further disturbances.
The suspects are expected to face court charges once investigations are complete.
