Several people are feared dead and others injured following multiple bomb explosions that struck Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, on Monday evening.
The blasts occurred around the popular Monday Market and near a security post at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
It was gathered that the explosions occurred at about 7:02 p.m., shortly after the breaking of fast, causing panic in the affected areas.
Although the exact number of casualties has not yet been confirmed, several people were reportedly killed while many others sustained injuries in the incident.

Confirming the incident, the Head of Operations of the Federal Fire Service in Borno State, Mohammed Kafaran, said emergency responders had been deployed to the scene.
Kafaran added that rescue operations were ongoing.
