Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Mohammed announced his defection to the APM after obtaining the party’s membership card on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Mohammed’s defection is expected to reshape political alignments in Bauchi State, where the PDP has been a dominant force.
He had earlier declared his intention to contest the Bauchi South senatorial seat in the 2027 general election.
