President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential primaries in Abia State, recording a decisive victory across all 17 local government areas.

The result was announced on Saturday at the state collation centre by the State Collation Officer, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, who confirmed that Tinubu polled 161,005 votes. His only challenger, Stanley Osifo, garnered 1,007 votes.

Breakdown of the results showed Tinubu’s strongest performances came from Bende, where he secured 39,826 votes, followed by Umuahia North with 14,943 votes, Isiala Ngwa North with 11,298 votes, and Ikwuano with 8,902 votes.

Osifo’s highest tally was recorded in Isiala Ngwa North with 181 votes. He also polled 158 votes in Isiala Ngwa South and 116 votes in Umuahia North.

Kalu further revealed that out of 162,109 registered APC members in the state, 162,084 were accredited to vote, while 162,012 valid votes were cast in the exercise.

He subsequently declared Tinubu the duly elected winner, having secured the highest number of valid votes in the state’s APC presidential primary.
