President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity and strengthening national unity, assuring Nigerians that the country is gradually becoming safer and more stable.
Tinubu made the vow in his nationwide broadcast to mark the third anniversary of his administration on Friday, May 29, 2026.
He stated that security agencies and the Armed Forces have intensified operations against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, oil thieves and other criminal elements across the country.
While acknowledging that security challenges remain, the president said progress is being made in restoring peace and economic activities in affected communities.
Tinubu said: “We continue investing in intelligence, surveillance, logistics, technology and inter-agency coordination.
“We are improving the capabilities of our armed forces and security agencies, and reclaiming the authority of the Nigerian state wherever criminality threatens peace and order.”
He assured Nigerians that his government would not relent until citizens can live and work safely in every part of the country.
The president also used the occasion to call for national unity and collective responsibility in the task of rebuilding the nation.
“We must choose hope over despair, unity over division, and nation-building over narrow interests,” he said.

Tinubu stressed that no region, religion or ethnic group should feel excluded, insisting that Nigeria’s diversity remains one of its greatest strengths.
“Nigeria belongs to all of us – no region, faith, or group should feel marginalised or forgotten,” he stated.
Tinubu expressed optimism about the country’s future, saying confidence is gradually returning across critical sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, technology, manufacturing and power.
“Today, the world is watching our country again, not as a nation defined by its difficulties, but as a nation determined to rise,” Tinubu added.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of ongoing reforms, expressing confidence that the country would emerge stronger, fairer, and more prosperous.
