The family of Adebayo Adelabu has appealed for calm following the abduction of his younger sister, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, and her twin sons in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the family confirmed that the victims were kidnapped in the early hours of the day while heading out to school. The incident reportedly occurred around 7:30 a.m. when armed men intercepted them and took them away.

The family said security and law enforcement agencies have been notified and have already commenced investigations, with efforts underway to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.

While expressing deep distress over the incident, the family said it remains confident in the capacity of security agencies to secure their release.

It urged members of the public to avoid speculation and the spread of unverified information that could hinder ongoing operations.

The family also called for prayers and support from Nigerians, while encouraging anyone with useful information to assist authorities through appropriate channels.

Mrs. John-Paul, 43, is a former employee of the Central Bank of Nigeria and First Bank Pension Custodian who recently retired and relocated to Ibadan with her children.

The family said it would continue to cooperate with security agencies and provide updates as the situation develops.
