Police operatives have rescued Olaide Busayo John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, three days after they were kidnapped.
The victims were freed during a rescue operation carried out by police operatives on Saturday evening.
According to security sources, two suspected members of the kidnapping gang were killed in an exchange of gunfire with police officers, while two firearms were recovered from the scene.
John-Paul and her children were abducted at about 7:30 a.m. on June 3 while heading to the children’s school in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Sources familiar with the operation disclosed that the police deployed intelligence-led tactics and tracked the suspects’ movements, mounting sustained pressure that eventually led to a confrontation with the kidnappers.
It was gathered that the operation culminated in the safe rescue of the victims without injury, bringing an end to days of uncertainty surrounding their whereabouts.
The police have yet to release a statement on the development as of press time.
