The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast cloudy conditions, thunderstorms, and rainfall across many parts of the country from Sunday to Tuesday.
NiMet, in its weather outlook released on Saturday, predicted sunny skies with patches of clouds over the northern region on Sunday, with chances of early morning thunderstorms and light rainfall in parts of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Borno, Taraba, and Adamawa states.
It said thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall are expected across most parts of the region later in the afternoon and evening.
For the North-Central, NiMet forecast sunny skies with patches of clouds and early morning thunderstorms with light rain in parts of Kwara, Niger, Kogi, and the Federal Capital Territory.
The agency added that moderate thunderstorms and rainfall are expected across most parts of the region later in the day.
In the South, NiMet predicted cloudy skies with light rainfall in parts of Oyo, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states during the morning hours.
NiMet also forecast moderate rainfall later in the day in parts of Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Imo, Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states.
On Monday, the agency projected sunny skies with patches of clouds over the northern region, with morning thunderstorms and moderate rainfall expected in parts of Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.
It said afternoon and evening thunderstorms with moderate rainfall are likely in parts of Yobe, Jigawa, Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, Taraba, and Adamawa states.
For the North-Central, NiMet forecast cloudy skies with spells of sunshine and morning thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall inparts of Niger, Kwara, Nasarawa, and the FCT.
It added that sunny skies with a few patches of clouds are expected across most parts of the region later in the day.

The agency also predicted a cloudy atmosphere over the southern region, with light rainfall expected across most parts of the South-West in the morning, while moderate rainfall is forecast over the South-South and South-East later in the day.
On Tuesday, NiMet said the northern region would experience sunny skies with a few patches of clouds during the morning, while thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall are expected later in the day in parts of Katsina, Kano, Kebbi, Kaduna, and the North-East.

For the southern region, the agency predicted a cloudy atmosphere with light rainfall inparts of Akwa Ibom and Cross River states during the morning, while moderate rainfall is expected across the region later in the day.
NiMet warned that strong winds may precede thunderstorms in affected areas and advised residents to take necessary precautions by securing loose objects to prevent damage.
The agency also cautioned motorists against driving during heavy rainfall, urged residents to disconnect electrical appliances from power sockets during storms, and advised them to stay away from tall trees to avoid injuries from falling branches.
It further urged airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports from NiMet for effective flight planning and advised members of the public to keep updated with its weather forecasts.
