Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has engaged in a heated exchange with a police officer over an alleged attempt to arrest him shortly after a nightclub performance in the early hours of Saturday.

A video of the confrontation, which has gone viral on social media, was posted on X by Daygenius, an associate of the rapper.

In the footage, Odumodublvck is seen inside a vehicle arguing with a police officer, who questioned why the musician was allegedly resisting arrest.

The officer said an invitation had earlier been sent to the rapper and asked him to explain why he was refusing to accompany the police.

“Invitation was sent to you, it’s okay. What I want to ask you now, are you resisting an arrest? If you’re not resisting an arrest, tell me why you are not following the police?” the officer said.

Odumodublvck, however, insisted that the matter had already been handled by his lawyers and argued that the officer had no jurisdiction to arrest him.

“You don’t have the jurisdiction; you came to my house. Don’t tell me to wait. You told my estate people to tell me to come, and I told my lawyers, and they attended to it. I am not resisting an arrest. My lawyers attended to it,” he said.

Daygenius, while sharing the video, claimed that the rapper showed the officers a document indicating that the proposed arrest should not proceed.

He further linked the incident to the ongoing legal dispute between Odumodublvck and fellow rapper Blaqbonez.

“At the club this morning, they tried to illegally arrest Odumodublvck after his electrifying performance at BOHO. He showed them a document that nullified the arrest,” he wrote.

The incident is the latest development in the prolonged dispute between the two rappers, which has played out on social media for almost a year.

In July, Blaqbonez reportedly filed a N2.55 billion lawsuit against Odumodublvck, accusing him of defamation and harassment.

The dispute has also involved a woman linked to the two artistes, who recently described Blaqbonez as a “manipulator.”

The circumstances surrounding the alleged arrest attempt, including the identity of the police officers involved and the legal status of the invitation, were not immediately clear.
