President Bola Tinubu on Thursday night held a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris, the capital of France.
The development was disclosed on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said the meeting reflected the warm diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Onanuga said the private dinner provided another opportunity for the two leaders to reinforce cooperation on issues of mutual interest and further deepen relations between Nigeria and France.
“French President Emmanuel Macron received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a private dinner Thursday night at the Élysée Palace, reflecting the enduring relationship between Nigeria and France and their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation,” the presidential spokesman wrote on X.

The meeting came days after Tinubu moved to Paris to continue his three-week annual vacation after initially beginning the break in the United Kingdom.
The Presidency had noted that the president would continue to discharge his official responsibilities while away and remain in regular communication with key government officials.
