Nollywood was thrown into grief on Saturday, December 27, 2025, following the passing of actress and filmmaker Allwell Ademola.

The 43-year-old reportedly died after suffering a heart attack at her home.

Earlier that day, worries about her health surfaced when a neighbour informed members of a WhatsApp group that the actress had been taken to a clinic in Agege, Lagos for treatment.

Her death came as a shock to many, especially because Ademola had posted online just hours earlier, reflecting on life and praying to see the end of the year.

A prominent name in the Yoruba movie industry, Ademola built a respected career over decades.

She appeared in numerous productions and was admired for her ability to portray strong mothers, caregivers, and community figures.

She also worked behind the camera as a producer, helping promote indigenous storytelling.

Tributes poured in across social media from colleagues and fans.

Actress Faithia Williams expressed her pain, writing, “This hit me so badly… Allahu Akbar.”

Mide Martins also mourned her, describing it as a “black Saturday” and praying for God’s mercy on the late actress.

Actor Damola Olatunji shared a candlelight image, noting simply, “Life is a mirage.”

Others, including Bidemi Kosoko, Ariyo Akpesin, and Jaiye Kuti, wrote emotional messages expressing disbelief and heartbreak, struggling to accept the news.

Fans also joined in the tributes — one wrote a prayer, saying the actress would live to “declare the glory of the Lord,” reflecting the hope many still held when the news first spread.

Ademola’s passing has left a deep void among friends, colleagues, and admirers who celebrated her talent, warmth, and contributions to Nollywood.
