A South Korean actress, Kim Sae-ron, has been fined $15,000 (about N6.9 million) for driving under the influence of alcohol in 2022.
The Seoul Central District Court, on Wednesday, handed out the monetary penalty to 23-year-old Kim, who crashed her car into a guardrail and trees lining the street while driving under the influence of alcohol in Cheongdam-dong, Southern Seoul, on May 18, 2022.
The actress crashed into a transformer which cut off electricity to 57 stores in the area for nearly three hours.

Kim’s blood alcohol level was measured at more than 0.2 per cent at the time, far exceeding the licence revocation level of 0.08 per cent.
