ADC denies submitting list of state chairmen to INEC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports claiming that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released and validated a list of its state chairmen across the country.

Reacting to a statement titled “Coalition Update: INEC Confirms ADC State Chairmen Nationwide”, which has been widely circulated, the party said the report is false and designed to mislead the public.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC clarified that INEC has not confirmed or published any such list, either officially or unofficially.

He stressed that the authority to constitute and ratify state leadership within a political party rests with the party itself, in line with its constitution, and that INEC only recognises lists properly submitted through the appropriate channels after due process.

“As of today, no such comprehensive list has been submitted or confirmed by INEC,” Abdullahi said.

“The report in circulation is fake news, obviously engineered by individuals determined to create confusion within our party and mislead the public.”

He urged members and stakeholders to remain calm and rely only on official communications from the party’s national leadership, adding that the ADC remains committed to discipline, internal democracy, and proper structure.

“The public is advised to disregard the fake list.

“Any authentic update regarding the party’s structure will be communicated via our verified channels,” the statement concluded.
