Adeboye speaks on Trump’s threat, counsels Tinubu on what to do with killings

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has advised President Bola Tinubu to act decisively and diplomatically in tackling the nation’s worsening insecurity, especially amid growing concerns over alleged attacks on Christians.

Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption City Campground, Adeboye said the government must adopt a strategic and balanced approach to safeguard lives and restore peace.

“If I am asked to make suggestions, I will quietly tell the government: move wisely, move diplomatically,” he said.

“There was a time when Christians and Muslims lived together peacefully.

“My family included Muslims, and religion only became a political issue later.”

The cleric urged Tinubu to appeal to the U.S. government to delay any planned military intervention for 100 days while giving security agencies a 90-day deadline to eliminate terrorists or resign.

“Convince the President of America to delay any action for about 100 days, then direct our security chiefs to eliminate terrorists within 90 days or resign,” Adeboye said.

He emphasized that the directive must extend beyond insurgents to include their sponsors and financiers.

“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time, he should make it clear that they are to eliminate both the terrorists and their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” he added.

Adeboye also warned against careless foreign relations, noting that Nigeria should not rely on external powers for rescue in the event of an international conflict.

“If America attacks us, no other nation—China, Russia, or Britain—will intervene.

“They may condemn it, but they will not help us,” he cautioned.

Expressing displeasure over President Tinubu’s recent claim that security had improved, Adeboye said the statement does not align with the realities Nigerians face daily.

“I almost spoke last month after hearing that all is well. People are still being killed and displaced,” he lamented.

Despite the challenges, the RCCG leader urged Nigerians to remain prayerful and hopeful.

“God said this will be a remarkable year.

“Despite the turbulent winds, there will be peace again in Nigeria,” he concluded.
