Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has appointed his nephew, Tunji Adeleke, and 20 others as chairmen of non-statutory boards in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

Tunji is the son of the governor’s late elder brother, Sen. Isiaka Adeleke.

While Tunji Adeleke was appointed as the Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Prof. Wale Oladipo, a former national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was appointed as Chairman of the University of Osun (UNIOSUN).

Also on the list were Diran Odeyemi, a former PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary as the Chairman of Esa Oke College of Technology; while Rasaq Salinsile, a former factional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state was appointed Chairman of Teaching Service Commission.

Others listed as chairmen included Gbenga Onigbogi, University of Ilesa; Diran Ayanbeku, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree; Peter Babalola, Osun State College of Education, Ila; and Sen. Kola Ogunwale, Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa.

Also appointed were Dr Kingsley Akinroye, chairman, State Hospital Management Board; Ibukun Fadipe, Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board; Muyiwa Oloso, Chairman, Osun State Broadcasting Corporation; Taju Adisa, Primary Healthcare Board; Maruf Ishola, chairman, Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing); and Funso Ishola, Chairman, Pilgrims Welfare Board (Christian Wing).

Dr Muyiwa Oladimeji was appointed as the Chairman, Osun Health Insurance Agency; Niyi Owolade as Chairman, Osun State University Teaching Hospital; Ebenezer Ebenco as Chairman, Council for Arts and Culture; Akanfe Atidade, Chairman, Housing Loans Board; Kolade Adeleke, Chairman, Osun Tourism Board; and Sola Adewumi as Chairman, Osun Internal Revenue Service.

Rasheed stated that the appointments are with immediate effect.

It would be recalled that Governor Adeleke, on Wednesday, July 19, inaugurated 25 commissioners as members of the State Executive Council after eight months in office.
