Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared that he has no plan to quit the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adeleke made the declaration during a closed door meeting with the Osun PDP stakeholders’ forum at the Government House in Osogbo, the state capital, on Wednesday night.
The governor described rumours about his imminent defection as “fake news emanating from those intimidated by our extraordinary performance in state leadership.”
“My people, party elders, and chiefs, I declare before you today (Wednesday) that I am not defecting to APC or any other political party. I remain in PDP. Ignore any fake news”, Adeleke was quoted as saying in a statement issued by his spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

The forum also re-endorse the governor for second term as the sole candidate of the party for the 2026 election.
The PDP leaders added: “We appreciate extensive delivery of dividends of democracy and good governance across all sectors of Osun society.
