Adeleke sworn in as Osun Governor

Sen. Ademola Adeleke has been sworn in as the governor of Osun State.

Adeleke and his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, were sworn in at the Osogbo city stadium in the Osun State capital on Sunday.

The former senator, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defeated Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who was seeking re-election on July 16, 2022.

Dignitaries at the event included the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar; his running mate and Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa; the party’s National Chairman, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu; and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Others were Governors Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), and Duoye Diri (Bayelsa).

Other included the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and popular singer, David Adeleke, well known as Davido, among others.
