Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has returned to the Government House, Port Harcourt, after six months of suspension, pledging to remain committed to the aspirations of the people.
Speaking to journalists on Friday, Fubara expressed gratitude for the massive reception accorded him, describing it as a show of love and solidarity.
“I’m really humbled by what I saw at the airport.
“It was not just a celebration or a massive reception, but an affirmation of the strong bond between this government and the people,” he said.
The governor commended Rivers residents for standing by him during his absence, assuring them that his administration would continue to deliver on its promises.
“I want to assure you that, by the grace of God, we will keep doing those things that endeared us to you in the first place,” he added.
Fubara, who arrived alongside his wife, was accompanied to the Government House by his Deputy, Prof. Nma Ordu, the Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, and other top officials.
