Senators Amos Yohanna (Adamawa North), Abbas Iya (Adamawa Central), and Ikra Bilbis (Zamfara North) have defected from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC).
The senators announced their defection via separate letters read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio at plenary in Abuja on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
The lawmakers attributed their defection to the internal crisis bewildering the PDP.
In his remarks, Akpabio said the President Bola Tinubu administration, before assumption of office, met a challenged economy, saying the president had steadily brought reforms.
