Again, terrorists attack military checkpoint in Niger

Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly attacked a military checkpoint at Zuma Rock close to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, leaving unspecified number of soldiers dead.

Security sources disclosed that the attack occurred at about 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Zuma Rock, located along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, is a borderline between terror-stricken Niger State and Abuja

The latest attack is coming a few days after the terrorists reportedly killed no fewer than eight soldiers in the Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

The terrorists reportedly ambushed the military checkpoint with heavy firepower, gunning down the soldiers on duty and sporadically shooting for about 30 minutes.

On Sunday, terrorists ambushed the troops near the Nigerian Law School in Bwari, hours after they threatened to abduct President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.
