Ahmadu Bello Foundation awards N100m scholarships to northern students

Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has awarded scholarships worth N100 million to indigent students from the northern part of the country studying in various tertiary institutions.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Director-General of the Foundation, Abubakar Umar, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

Umar stated that the initiative, which is held every year, aims to provide financial support to less-privileged northern students, enabling them to pursue their academic careers without hindrances.

He noted: “Our scholarship program is designed to alleviate the financial burden on deserving students, ensuring that they have equal opportunities to excel academically. By investing in their education, we believe we are investing in the future of Northern Nigeria.”

“Currently, the Foundation’s scholars studying at various Nigerian universities are demonstrating outstanding academic performances.”

He said the scholarship award ceremony was graced by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Dr Babangida Aliyu, alongside other members and special guests.
