Aiyedatiwa nominates ex-AAUA VC, 11 others as commissioners

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has nominated 12 commissioners to serve in the state executive council.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, announced this via a statement issued on Friday, June 13, 2025.

Among those nominated by Aiyedatiwa is the former Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo State, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun.

Ajibefun served as AAUA Vice-Chancellor between 2015 and 2020.

Adeniyan noted that the names of the nominees have been forwarded to the Ondo State House of Assembly for confirmation.

He added that the nomination was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji, on Thursday, June 12.

Others nominees are Engr Ayorinde Olawoye, Ayodele Akande, Engr Alabi Johnson, Amidu Takuro, Adewale Akinlosotu, and Idowu Ajanaku.

Oluwaseun Osamaye, Dr Tob Loko, Olaolu Akindolire, Sunday Olajide, and Omoyofunmi Henry were also nominated as commissioners by the governor.

Aiyedatiwa was sworn in on February 24, 2025, three months after winning the governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
